Lyrics
Between the birds and the bees
That's where she finds me
Whistling on the breeze
As the sap flows fresh from the trees
Her poison is so sweet
Quickly bring me to my knees
Lay down next to me under our
Foxglove hollow
Sun beat down upon
a grass filled meadow
as we searched on and on
For our small shred of shadow
We made our nest upon
The back of a black widow
Run away into my
Foxglove hollow
This could be your Eden
You could be mine, my Eve
Run away into our
Humble foxglove abode
Your foxglove Hollow
My foxglove
Our foxglove, Hollow
Our foxglove
Between the birds and the bees
That's where she finds me
Whistling on the breeze
As the sap flows fresh from the trees.
Her poison is so sweet
Quickly bring me to my knees
Lay down next to me under our
Our foxglove hollow
Between the birds and the bees
That's where she finds me
Whistling on the breeze
As the sap flows fresh from the trees
Her poison is so sweet
So sweet
Bring me to my knees
In our foxglove hollow
Put pure and simply, Foxglove Hollow is a love song.
Imagine a glorious summer's day with flowers in bloom and a natural backdrop.
All good love songs need to have a hint of danger and in the lyrics I tried to capture this with the duality of a foxglove; both beautiful and poisonous.
Let me know in the comments below if you make any other connections, I'm really interested to see hear how this song makes you feel.
